2. Short Term Orthodontic Supplies

Once you learn the procedure, the next thing you will want to do is acquire the needed supplies for your office.  We make this process extremely easy and you will be confident that you are starting out with exactly what you need ... no more ... no less.  

The Short Term Ortho armamentarium is not large.  You will need approximately 5-8 pliers, an arrangement of ties and a small backup inventory of brackets and wires.  We carry all of the items that Dr. Swain recommends and we make ordering remarkably easy by packaging these materials into the Six Month Smiles Tool Kit.  This kit contains all of the items that you need to stock in your office.  

3. Short Term Orthodontic Patient Tray Kits(TM) and Lab Services

Many dentists tend to be nervous when considering adding orthodontics to their practices.  The thought of positioning brackets on each tooth seems tedious and time consuming.  Our Six Month Smiles Patient Tray Kits(TM) alleviate these concerns completely.  

Once you have a patient that is ready to proceed with treatment, you simply send models (or PVS impressions) and lab script to our Six Month Smiles lab.  The bracket specialists at the lab will place the clear composite brackets on the models of the patient's teeth.  They then fabricate a 2-layer indirect bonding tray system that makes bracket placement as easy as seating a bleaching tray.  The kits are included in a custom kit (for that specific patient) that is returned to your office.  This kit includes all of the materials you need for that particular patient such as the brackets and bonding trays; tooth colored archwires, clear orthodontic ties, adhesive, interproximal reduction materials, retractor and much more.  It just doesn't get any easier than this.  

4. Marketing Support

But what IS Short Term Orthodontics?

Short Term Orthodontics (STO) is a commonsense orthodontic alternative for adults who are not interested in traditional orthodontics.  STO involves the use of clear braces and tooth colored wires to give patients the smiles that they are looking for in an average time of six months.  

The short treatment times are a result of shifting away from some of the goals typically associated with comprehensive orthodontics.  The focus is on correcting the items that the patient does not like about their smile.  The goal is not to alter the patient's angle class.  In other words, the treatment is aimed at correcting the "chief complaints" and not making major bite changes.  

STO is conservative, effective and deals with tooth position problems in an appropriate manner ... by moving teeth!  STO is much more predictable and quicker than Invisalign.
